JIM BOYLEN, Head Men’s Coach, University of Utah Basketball
In March, the University of Utah named Jim Boylen as the school’s 14th head men’s basketball coach. Boylen brings 20 years of coaching experience in the collegiate and professional ranks with him to Utah. After working 13 years in the NBA, Boylen returned to Michigan State where he began his coaching career in 1987. The Utah program celebrates it’s 100th season next year. Utah ranks 10th in the NCAA with a .656 winning percentage. The Runnin’ Utes have made 26 NCAA Tournament appearances, recorded 32 20-win seasons, and won 28 conference championships.
