“The State of Mental Health in Salt Lake County”

In light of the tragedies at Trolley Square and Virginia Tech, there are many concerns, myths and facts about mental illness and its consequences. Richard will address the state of mental health in Salt Lake, our community’s response, the future in mental health services for those in need. Richard has been working in the field of Mental Health for the past 19 years. Valley Mental Health is one of the three largest mental health centers in the United States, serving about 20,000 people yearly. Shirley Pedler, a consumer of mental health services, will also make a few remarks.
